Spot-market freight works until it does not. In September, when every packing shed in the Valley is moving at once, the shipper calling around for a reefer is competing with everyone else calling around for a reefer — and paying whatever the market says that morning.

A dedicated arrangement takes you out of that. We commit truck capacity to your volume on an agreed basis, so when your season arrives the equipment is already spoken for and the rate was settled months earlier.

We run three trucks. That means dedicated capacity here is a genuine commitment rather than a sales term — when we assign a truck to your freight, it is a meaningful share of what we have, and we do not oversell it.

Set It Up Before the Season, Not During

The Valley’s heavy stretch runs July through October — tomatoes, table grapes and the raisin crop moving simultaneously, with citrus following through winter. That is when reefer capacity tightens across the region and rates move against shippers.

Shippers who set up dedicated capacity do it in spring. By August, everyone with volume is looking for the same trucks.

We operate three. We will be direct about how much of that we can commit to any one shipper, and we will not promise capacity we do not have.

Either. Most of our dedicated work is temperature-controlled, but dry van works the same way.
