Spider Trans is a refrigerated trucking company based at 1832 Cooper Street in Selma, California. We’ve held active interstate operating authority since 2022 and run three trucks with three drivers, hauling produce, fresh and frozen protein, and dry goods across the Central Valley.
Selma is a farming town. Ninety percent of the raisins produced in the United States are grown within eight miles of here, and the ground around us is dense with vineyards, orchards and packing sheds. Almost everything we haul was grown or packed within an hour of our yard. We didn’t move into this market — we started in it.
What We’re Built For
Perishable freight rewards attention and punishes carelessness, and most of the failures in this business are small ones: a trailer that wasn’t pre-cooled, a set point nobody confirmed, a missed appointment window that pushes delivery to the next day. Those aren’t equipment problems. They’re process problems, and a small operation that actually looks at each load catches them.
That’s the size we are and the way we work. Three trucks isn’t a stepping stone to pretending we’re bigger — it’s what lets the person answering the phone know exactly where every load is.
How We Work With Shippers
We’re asset-based. Your freight goes on our trucks with our drivers, and we don’t re-broker it. When we can’t cover a lane, we say so the same day rather than tying up your freight while we look for someone else to run it.
We’re also straightforward about what we don’t do. No hanging meat — that needs rail-equipped trailers we don’t operate. No hazmat. No flatbed or oversize. No LTL. Being clear about the edges saves everyone time.
